Throughout their careers Bill and Pam have a reputation for dependability with everything they do. They and their foundation are strong supporters of the Des Moines metro area and have been active in local neighborhood events, projects and efforts.

 

They are members of The Thompson Family Foundation board of directors. They were chosen as the 2020 Citizens  of the Year by The Chamber of Commerce.

They were awarded the City of Des Moines Parks & Recreation Volunteer Lifetime

Achievement Award in 2021.

 

They were advisors and fund raisers for the Riverview Park Prairie Meadows Riviera Stage Project and advisors to the Captain Roy’s Birdland Marina Project.

 

Bill brings years of management experience in motorsports, entertainment, real estate and community service. His project development and management history covers over 50 years.

For several years, Bill oversaw facets of the Ruan Greater Des Moines Grand Prix event that involved coordinating 700 sponsors for a ESPN broadcast race event.

Bill helped manage a GM race team for six years. The team won five national IMSA championships in the process.

Along with many years experience in the aforementioned areas Pam spent 28 years working in the special education field. During the Ruan Grand Prix, Pam served as the event’s chief registrar and was instrumental in overall event planning and management activities, including operations and logistics. She has also worked in registration for a FIA-Formula 1 race in Phoenix, AZ.
